Bovine Rhinotracheitis Vaccine (IBR), Modified Live Virus
In a post licensure study to evaluate the time from vaccination to onset of cell-mediated immunity, calves received a label approved dose of Stimulator™ IBR and were monitored for seven consecutive days. Within 48 hours of vaccination, bovine interferon was detected in the serum of vaccinates. Interferons are proteins developed and released by lymphocytes in response to the presence of pathogens—such as viruses and bacteria. They allow communication between cells to trigger the protective defenses of the immune system that eradicate pathogens.
